I offer the following prayer for the Forty Niner Faithful (with my tongue firmly planted in my cheek):
St Bill Walsh, patron saint of 49r Football, intercede on behalf of the Harbaugh brothers as they prepare for their epic showdown in New Orleans, a city with more Eucharistic Adoration Chapels and 23 Hour bars than any other in the USA. Help them to remain strong in the face of temptation, true to the Teachings of Holy Mother Church and steadfast in their walk along the Way that is Jesus Christ. And especially, O most beloved uncannonized saint and former coach of the Mighty San Francisco Forty Niners, help John Harbaugh accept defeat graciously and with dignity and to not be too devestated after his brother Jim's team kicks his sorry butt all over the Superdome.
We ask this humbly, in the Name of Jesus and under the protection of His Mother Mary.
