Well, we came close. From a bad start to one game short of a SuperBowl run, my Niners had a heckuva year and I am proud of them. Big changes comin' to the team. JimmyG is on his way out - been given permission to seek a trade - and it will be interesting to see what happens in the draft.
Yes...it is possible to be a sober Faithful who is also a real Catholic Out Loud. That's me....a 3rd Order Dominican who knows that cheering on the Forty Niners is a way to heaven or a season in purgatory but by golly it is fun.
I guess this is the year for changes. I am hoping to get a new puppy to keep Robbie company sometime this year. I will retire from my job and not work for a living for the first time since I started getting a paycheck back in 1972. I will be trying to learn how to show dogs in conformation. This is going to be an interesting year.
To say I am a bit nervous about it all would not be a lie. However, I am confident in one thing - I will walk through whatever is ahead of me with grace and dignity. I will do that because that is how I have been taught. I stand on the shoulders of Giants and I just do not want to let them down.
So thank you Niners for a great season. Thank you JimmyG for 4 years of trying to win the big prize. Thank you God for my life today.
EXACTLY AS IT IS!
