Keanu Reeves is WHO????

Ok, this is really fun....I just discovered on YouTube (and no, I do not know how to post a link so just look it up yourselves) this funny blurb on Keanu Reeves. Apparently, he is immortal...a vampire...the reincarnation of either Charlamagne OR a French actor named Paul Mounet who died in 1922.

And of course the pictures do look just like KR and he doesn't appear to have aged much in the past 10 years.

Let's forget for a moment that the man is incredibly rich and has access to all the same kind of beauty and anti-aging treatments as those Hollywood women like Jennifer Aniston and Angelina Jolie. Since I am pretty sure they just have new bodies grown for them in a lab somewhere in Switzerland every year or so, I am sure that KR does the same thing...my only question is why doesn't Mel Gibson do it because he is looking AWFUL.

I suppose being the head of your very own church can be pretty tiring....and the strain is showing on Mel.

Anyway, I am exhausted which is why I am so silly tonight. We have had a run of sickness here at the old office and man oh man has it taken its toll on ME. I have a skeleton crew - if you can call it that - and while they are working hard they are also complaining all the flippin' time. That, my friends, gets tiresome really quick.

One of them said tonight, "This is just awful. I cannot stand it. I don't think I can make it one more day, do you?".

"Well, I don't have much of a choice", I replied.

"I cannot imagine it getting any worse than it is right NOW", she whined.

Two minutes later the news came over the radio that the death toll in Haiti might be over 100 thousand. I looked at her to see if there was any reaction.

None.

Hey, listen, I understand. As someone who used to make a career out of being selfish and self-centered I absolutely get it that someone dressed in the latest designer knock off from TJ Max, with her iPhone plugged in next to the extra cell phone dedicated only to eBay can complain about having to work 12 hours in a row in a clean, dry, safe office while the radio blasts the latest news about people stepping over dead bodies in the streets.

And I understand that it sometimes takes a jolt of reality about devastation across the globe to make me very aware of how blessed my life has been; what tragedies I have suffered pale in comparison to a mother dragging the body of her five year old out of the rubble that had been their home.

And I also know that I will have at least one or two people call me a hypocrite because I do not smoke a joint on the steps of the State Capitol to draw attention to the failure of the war on drugs. Seriously, I will be called names because that is not my cause celebre.

The truth of my life, however, is that nothing is really a huge cause for me any more EXCEPT Truth itself. And even in that area I no longer argue with anyone. Truth is Truth, whether I believe it or not. If you think Truth demands my acceptance of its essence in order to exist then fine...look at your wrist watch, call it a pepper steak and take a bite.

I need to go home and rest. Only a few hours left and I can get the heck out of here. I have no meetings tonight. I plan on hitting the sack and sleeping for as long as my body will let me.

And on Friday I am going to watch some more Keanu Reeves movies.

I think I have to plagiarize this Missy! " If you think Truth demands my acceptance of its essence in order to exist then fine...look at your wrist watch, call it a pepper steak and take a bite."

well,as I've been saying for some time,lol...."you can never have too much Keanu" :)
on a serious note, the devastation in Haiti is almost unfathomable....but,despite your co-worker's apparent oblivion? I Am heartened by the way the world is trying to respond quickly.
I just hope the aid supplies can be gotten to those who need them, the bottlenecks caused by transportation difficulties are frightening.
I keep praying.

(and...get some sleep:)
