Sober Catholics

Sober Catholic Blog

I was directed to this blog by a post at Catholic Answers. I am eager to find out how these people view their recovery. It is always a blessing to 'hook up' with like-minded Catholics.

I am so looking forward to the weekend. We are going to have a meeting of our little step study group that is looking at the steps from a Christian perspective. It is time to explore the 4th step and that should be, uh, a pip.

My experience has been that we do not lose new people around the 4th step. We lose them around 8 and 9. It is amazing to me the lengths we will go to in order to avoid doing what others tell us will work!

Leslie - found your blog via your comment over on Sober Catholic. I did join Paul's "Catholics in Recovery" and actually just started my own blog last night called "We Are Not Saints...YET!". It is here on blogspot at wearenotsaintsyet.blogspot.com. It's just getting started but you'll see where I did start a Calix unit in my parish. We've been at it for 18 months. Took a little work to get it off the ground but Jim at the office in Minnesota was a great help and if/when you decide to make the move I'd be more than happy to share my experience. I'm actually headed to the Calix Convention in Pittsburgh 8/1 to 8/3 and it should be great. Anyway - just wanted to introduce myself. Will add you to my "Blog List" and if you find mine worthwhile would appreciate the same! God Bless! Ken J
